John Jordan

John Jordan, a 30 year veteran of the finance industry, dedicates much of his time doing advocacy work and currently serves on the board of the Pennsylvania State NAACP where he serves as their Community Relations Chairperson. He also serves on the Bucks County Community College, Diversity and Multicultural Board. 
Mr. Jordan's programs address a multiple of important topics including: Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Civil Rights Advocacy work and the significance of Juneteenth. He has been an invited speaker to Temple, Penn State, Rutgers, and Drexel Universities, to name a few. 

Mr. Jordan is also a gifted vocalist and performer. He brings a southern soul and gospel sound to the stage. A product of Birmingham, Alabama he grew up listening to Quartet Gospel, Blues and Soul Music. 

He was the lead singer of an 80's top 40 Band the Ultimate Force and he has shared the stage with such notable artist as Blue Magic, The Mighty Clouds of Joy, The Original Blue Notes, Shirley Caesar and the Canton Spirituals. His programs include an eclectic mix of some of the most well known southern soul, gospel, R&B and blues songs of the 20th century

  • Juneteenth: Its Meaning and History:

    Juneteenth (short for “June Nineteenth”) marks the day when federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas in 1865 to take control of the state and ensure that all enslaved people be freed. The troops’ arrival came a full two and a half years after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation. Juneteenth honors the end to slavery in the United States and is considered the longest-running African American holiday. On June 17, 2021 President Biden signed a proclamation making Juneteenth a Federal holiday.

  • The History of Voting Rights in America
     and why protecting these rights is still an issue today. Topics include:

    • Fighting for the woman's right to vote 

    • Poll taxes and other tactics designed to impede Blacks from voting

    • The important sacrifices made by those who gave their lives for voting rights. 

    • Pivotal events including the Birmingham Bombing

    • The Voting Rights Act 

    • Recent attacks on voting rights nationally and in Pennsylvania
